Most product analytics tools charge by usage: the more events you send, or the more users you track, the more you pay. It sounds fair, and when traffic is flat it is. But for a growing product it creates an awkward problem: your analytics bill rises exactly when you're busiest, and you can't know next quarter's number in advance.
For teams in India there's a second problem: the bill is usually in US dollars. That means currency swings, international card limits, forex markup, and invoices your accountant can't use to claim GST input credit.
Spectra was built to fix both.
How fixed pricing works
Spectra plans include a set number of events each month, at a fixed price in rupees:
| Plan | Price per month | Events included |
|---|---|---|
| Free | ₹0 | 5,000 |
| Starter | ₹9,999 | 1,000,000 |
| Growth | ₹29,999 | 5,000,000 |
| Scale | ₹50,000 | 10,000,000 |
Prices are before 18% GST, and every payment comes with a GST invoice (add your GSTIN to claim input credit). You can pay by UPI Autopay, card or netbanking.
If you go over your plan in a month, Spectra doesn't stop collecting your data. Extra events cost ₹8 per 1,000 and are added to your renewal. You can see the running count in the app at any time, and if you're over every month, the next plan up is usually cheaper. The point is that the number on your budget sheet is the number you pay, month after month.
What you get
Spectra covers the reports most teams use Mixpanel for:
- Insights: trends of any event, unique users or totals, broken down by source, city, plan or any property.
- Funnels: where people drop off between steps, overall or by segment.
- Retention: whether people come back a day, a week or a month later.
- Flows: what people do before and after a key event.
- Users: a profile for each person, with every device and login linked, so your numbers count people, not browsers.
- Boards: dashboards your team opens every morning, with view-only links for people outside the company.
- Ask Spectra: ask a question in plain English and get the chart.
There's no per-seat price: invite the whole company, with roles for admins, analysts and viewers.
Is it a fit for you?
Spectra is a good fit if:
- You want Mixpanel-style product analytics without the usage anxiety.
- You'd rather pay in rupees, with a proper GST invoice.
- Your team is non-technical in places and needs clear reports rather than SQL.
It's not the right fit (yet) if you need session replay, A/B testing or warehouse sync built into the analytics tool.
Switching is quick
Install the SDK, add two lines, and your first events appear within seconds:
import { spectra } from "spectra-analytics";
spectra.init("YOUR_PROJECT_TOKEN");
spectra.track("Signed up", { plan: "pro" });Already on Mixpanel? Spectra accepts events in Mixpanel's format, so you can switch without rewriting your tracking. See how to switch from Mixpanel.
Start free, with 5,000 events a month and no card needed, and move to a paid plan when you're ready.
